Yue, McQuisten Finish Week of Meetings in D.C. for Republicans Overseas

On September 19, Republicans Overseas (RO) CEO Solomon Yue and Sr. Advisor Kerry McQuisten completed a full week of back-to-back meetings in Washington D.C. Together with RO Board member John Ying and the group's government affairs consultant, they visited with numerous members of the U.S. House and Senate and their staff to discuss ending the double-taxation of overseas Americans. In October of 2024, President Trump added his support of RO's efforts to end double taxation, cutting a video for the organization's GOTV efforts. The strategy pitched to the legislative branch would help fulfill a Trump campaign pledge and benefit Americans on both sides of the aisle living abroad, and was met with overwhelming support.

Yue and McQuisten also met with Oregon's Vance Day who serves as Sr. Counsel to Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche in the DOJ, and senior staff inside Harmeet Dhillon's Civil Rights Division who gave an extensive tour of the building. McQuisten took the mic inside AG Bondi's press room.

Yue, Ying, and McQuisten had dinner with SoS Marc Rubio's incoming Assistant Secretary to East Asia and the Pacific, Michael DeSombre. The trip closed with another successful meeting in the White House where the topics at hand included the Oregon Conservative Caucus, Oregon election integrity, and Oregon's upcoming midterm races.
