Baker City, OR — May 28, 2026 — At a time of geopolitical tension between the United States and China—and growing debate over political power and influence at home—Black Lyon Publishing, LLC announces the release of Counterscript: A Personal and Political Memoir by former RNC member Solomon Yue, co-authored by Kerry McQuisten. The book features a foreword by New York Times bestselling author and former Trump deputy campaign manager David N. Bossie and will be released nationwide on July 4, 2026.

Born in Shanghai right before Mao’s Cultural Revolution, Yue came of age in a system where political accusations meant imprisonment—or worse. As the son of Christian capitalist parents, he lived under constant threat, navigating a society shaped by ideological purges and state control. His eventual escape from Communist China marked the beginning of a decades-long journey that would take him from immigrant entrepreneur to senior roles within Republican Party leadership.

Early praise for the book highlights its timeliness and depth. Former White House Deputy National Security Advisor Steve Yates calls it “... a blend of two great missions—love of all that makes America great and a warrior’s charge to defeat the evil he escaped,” while political analyst and commentator Gordon Chang describes Counterscript as “riveting, heartwarming, and most of all — inspiring.” Former RNC Co-Chair and National Finance Co-Chair of Donald J. Trump for President, Inc. Tommy Hicks says, “Solomon is a good friend of mine and of freedom. What he writes is important and true. Please read this and hear it.”

Yue is available for interviews to discuss:

  • What Americans misunderstand about communist systems like China’s

  • Lessons from the Cultural Revolution that still matter today

  • Behind-the-scenes dynamics inside Republican politics in Oregon and D.C.

  • How U.S.–China relations are likely to evolve—and what’s at stake

Counterscript will be available in print, audio, and digital formats through most major booksellers. The Kindle version is already available for pre-order on Amazon.

Black Lyon Publishing, LLC, founded in 2007, is an independent Oregon-based publisher specializing in a range of nonfiction titles, including political works.
